DARWIN'S THEORY OF EVOLUTION
Lamarck was the first person to have made a significant introduction in this area. He made a systematic presentation over evolution in 1809. It is why, scholars consider him the forerunner of Darwin. Lamarck’s and Darwin’s theories are one of the earliest theories of evolution. The theories that followed were based on or derived from these two fundamental theories. Lamarck might have been wrong in his approach, still his theory was an important attempt to predict transformation. The theory is significant for it is one of the earliest attempts at predicting transformation Its importance can best be understood by contrasting it with Darwinian theory.
