The number of employees working for Lenovo increased from 52,000 in 2016-17 to 54,000 in 2017-18.

Lenovo is a leading brand of desktop PCs, notebooks and smartphones. Last year, it was the largest brand of PCs based on the number of shipments as per reports published by IDC & Gartner. While Lenovo has maintained its leadership status in PCs and tablets, it is also working on growing its presence in emerging technologies. The CEO of Lenovo is Yang Yuanqing.  China is the largest market for Lenovo products accounting for around 25% of its entire revenue in 2017-18.Its business is divided into three major reportable segments that include - PC AND SMART DEVICE BUSINESS GROUP (PCSD), DATA CENTER BUSINESS GROUP (DCG) and MOBILE BUSINESS GROUP (MBG). The PCSD group is the largest reportable segment accounting for more than 70% of Lenovo's revenue for fiscal 2017-18.
