The community supervision population in U.S. is the number of persons living in the community while being supervised on probation or parole. Total community supervision population in United states at the end of 2016 was 4,537,100. Out of these, the total number  of persons on probation was 36,73,100. From the beginning of 2016 to the year end, the probation population declined by 1.4%.

The community supervision population in United States constituted the largest part of the entire correctional population there. Nearly 70% of the correctional population in U.S. was being supervised in the community. By the year end 2016, 1810 persons out of 100,000 in United States were either on probation or parole.
